| Status / code | Meaning | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| 401 / 40100 | The API key is missing or invalid. | Send X-API-Key, confirm you copied the active key, and create a replacement in Settings if the original is unavailable. |
| 402 / 40200 | The account does not have enough balance for the selected product. | Check the product price and current balance, then complete a top-up before retrying the same request. |
| 429 / 42900 | The account or demo exceeded a published rate limit. | Stop immediate retries, wait before sending another request, and keep automated calls within the documented per-user limit. |
| 503 / 50300 | The validation service is temporarily unavailable or in maintenance. | Do not classify the number as unregistered. Retry later; failed or undetermined checks do not keep the charge. |
Before contacting support
